Sustainable, natural silk, hand block printed and woven in bold patterns and colours. This organic or Eri silk is created without harming silkworms in a completely natural environment. It has a smoother yarn than that of the Tussar silk but still has texture, unlike the more common mulberry silk.
Neesha Amrish began her journey six years ago with a one - table workshop in a non-descript studio trying to go Organic with block prints and homespun textiles. Her vibrant colours, intense geometrical motifs, and fuss-free styling appeal to a very niche clientele. In fact, her work was selected by the Victoria and Albert Museum as a fine example of traditional techniques being used in a contemporary style.
The scarves are ethically made and fair trade, giving employment to many artisans in rural areas keeping the tradition of handcraft alive. As they are 100% handmade you may find on occasion that they are perfectly imperfect but that all adds to their individuality. With care, these will last for many years.
