These natural rugs are created using a unique and distinct technique.  The backgrounds are kilim (flatwoven) and the motifs and figures are carpet (knotted), which gives an added sense of depth to each piece.  

The designs have been developed from the Gabbeh weaving tradition dating back to 16th Century Iran which regularly featured simple shapes and patterns, often used for conveying stories and themes, perfect for kids!
