This striking pattern of Checker Navy is a truly beautiful furoshiki - the grey part of the design features a pearlised pattern that shimmers in the light.
This furoshiki features a traditional Kyoto pattern ( 'ichimatsu') that was in use centuries ago. It is a continuous square pattern, that was popular before the Heian era (794-1185), when Kyoto was the Imperial capital of Japan. At the temple Tofukuji, it is possible to see a moss garden laid out in this design.
It is perfect for wrapping a present that is under A4-size, or for creating a small Leaf Bag in which to put a collection of small gifts.
Every order receives a furoshiki booklet that offers clear diagrams to show how to make several styles of furoshiki gift-wrapping and furoshiki bags.
